We are our people

At Kognic, we're solving one of the most critical bottlenecks in autonomy: access to cost-efficient, reliable, and scalable human feedback. As the autonomous systems industry evolves, we're focused on the multi-modal real-world data used to train and validate autonomous vehicles and robots.

Our mission is clear: we are the price leader in data annotation for autonomy. We enable customers to get the most annotated autonomy data for their budget through our unique combination of Platform, Process, and People.

Why does this matter? No matter how powerful AI models become, they must be guided, validated, and aligned with human judgment. Machines that move among us must not only avoid collisions, but also behave in ways that feel safe and consistent with human expectations—values that cannot be derived from physics alone.

Our platform is designed to make human feedback as productive as possible for autonomy data—the hardest, richest, and most safety-critical domain. We're building the control plane for human feedback, routing attention to the slices where it matters most, integrating automation wherever possible, and producing evidence that stands up to demanding safety cases and regulatory reviews.

This quarter, we're celebrating the talented individuals who make this possible. Up next, you'll read about what a day at Kognic is like through testimonials from seven team members working across different departments 👀.

Talented, bright, and humble

At Kognic, we've assembled a team of experts focused on pushing the frontier of annotation for autonomy. Our people combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset. As Anna Hüllert from Customer Success says: "The best thing at Kognic is its team. People here are extremely talented and still so humble, down to earth and friendly! It's a great combination."

Sara Thiringer, Data Scientist, shares this perspective on Advisory Services: "Solving safe perception for autonomous driving is incredibly interesting. Working close to the data, measuring its quality and ensuring we deliver reliable ground truth is both challenging and exciting. Talented and collaborative colleagues make my department a really cool team to be part of."

Technical excellence alone isn't enough—collaboration is essential. Jon Jaleby from Sales explains: "We're constantly iterating to find solutions that enable value on both sides. It's hard work but together we make it inspiring and developing. You're constantly challenged, but through a transparent, diverse and humble culture."

Creating a positive environment where all questions are welcome is foundational to our culture. "When you have a question and ask for help, at Kognic you will always find someone who wants to help you succeed. There are no stupid questions," says Isak Hjortgren, Team Lead of the Data Quality Product Area. Jon Jaleby adds: "You never feel questioned. Instead, people challenge your arguments because they listen and are genuinely interested in your thoughts 💡."

The right working environment

Our diverse team—from different places, backgrounds, and with different mother tongues—is united by being open, curious, and service-minded. Polly Jing Li, VP of Advisory Services, highlights the importance of environment: "I always ensure we have an open and supportive environment. Everyone has their strengths and challenges, and that's how we complement each other. You need to build that safe environment to be able to ask and be asked for help."

Another key aspect is trust. "The whole approach at Kognic is more like a pull instead of a push approach," explains Marko Cotra, Team Lead of the Self-serve platform. "It's about believing that people want to do their best work and can help out with whatever is required." Isak Hjortgren adds: "We try to make it transparent so everyone knows what's going on and the purpose of what we do. Making sure you include everyone creates team spirit—everyone feels involved and contributes."

We work, and we care

Beyond the technical work, our team culture matters. Ester Svensson from People & Culture shares: "We have an initiative where we start weekly meetings by providing positive feedback to each other. When someone has a hectic day and another has a calm day, we divide tasks and help each other. It's all about lifting others up and teamwork."

At Kognic, we haven't just built a company, but also a community where people care for each other. This is what enables us to push the frontier of annotation for autonomy 🙌.
