Stories from the Road

Our team at Kognic has wrapped up an intense period of global conferences and speaking engagements. We want to thank our business partners, our support team back in Gothenburg, and most importantly, our customers and industry stakeholders for the valuable conversations.

Computer vision and the demands of building high-performing, trusted perception systems are evolving rapidly. As we integrate scalable, cost-efficient human feedback into data pipelines, we're seeing clear patterns emerge. What did we learn?

  • Human feedback and development must be integrated: Data continues to play a key role in developing ML-based systems, but it's no longer feasible to manage annotation separately from the development process. An integrated approach is essential—both technically (you don't know what data you need until you're in the development cycle) and organizationally (these teams must work together seamlessly to achieve results).
  • Teams know what productivity looks like: Many OEMs and ADAS suppliers have experimented with in-house annotation tools. While most eventually adopt scalable third-party platforms like Kognic, these experiments yield valuable insights. Understanding how annotation tools affect product development performance—even if the tools themselves aren't core IP—helps teams make better decisions about workflows, requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Metrics drive performance: Success in autonomy requires tracking and delivering actionable metrics across all decision makers. What you "think" matters little compared to measurable outcomes. This underscores the need for first-rate annotation platforms that enable repeated, on-time, on-budget deployment while providing the developer experience needed to attract and retain top talent. At Kognic, we help customers get the most annotated autonomy data for their budget—because productivity at scale is what moves programs forward.

We'll be back on the road this coming September with presence at AutoSens Brussels, ADAS/AD Tech. Expo in Santa Clara and AutoAI Berlin.

What shall we talk about then? And what can we learn together? See you soon!
